where to begin:  

You may need to use a variety of resources to complete this assessment task. This could include both print resources (printed books, journals, articles) and digital resources (web searches, databases, online encyclopaedias and AI).

Print resources have already had their credentials checked when they go through the editing process so the information is all ready to be used. This makes them a useful tool in the search for information as you can use these resources without wondering if the information is actually correct! CHS Library staff can direct you to some fabulous print resources. please ask if you are unsure where these books are located.

A quick way to find out more about the following themes:

• changing love stories over time
• marriage in Shakespeare's time compared with now 
• violence
• suicide
• influences on Shakespeare's playwriting e.g. classical texts he was influenced by; contemporary social and political influences

... is to do an internet search but remember to think critically about which websites you use. For example, the EPIC databases are more reliable than Wikipedia. Wikipedia can give you a good overview but remember to take the keywords you find there and move onto other sites for your actual research.
