Where do I start?

A quick way to find out more about your mission and information about the moon is to do an internet search OR to go straight to the answers provided by an AI model.

Things to rememeber:

• You are not allowed to use AI to answer your school assessment questions. This includes the AI answer that Google puts up as its first answer on the screen when you search.

• You are not to use Wikipedia to answer your school assessment questions, as we can't find out who has written it, and if they have any expertise in the subject. This site fails the A in our CRAPP test. I've put the whole CRAPP test at the bottom of the page for you.​ ​

Things to know:

• You have the ability to find the answers you need. You may need to work a little to get them, however!
• We have some amazing printed resources (books) and digital resources (online resources) that are going to help you get the information you need
• Here is the Reading List on the CHS Library catalogue to help you find a book you'd like to use.

For your information:

Sites ending in:

• .edu are generally educational sites
• .com are generally commercial sites purchased by people to sell their products
  
• .org means it is an organisation and if it is reputable could be a useful source. BUT, like .com, these can also be purchased by anyone, so be careful
• ​.gov or .govt are generally written by a governmental agency​

CRAPP TEST - useful for assessinG both webistes and the world around you!

Currency

• How recent is the information?
• How recently has the website been updated?
• Is it current enough for your topic?

Reliability

• What kind of information is included in the resource?
• Is the content of the resource primarily opinion? Is is balanced?
• Does the creator provide references or sources for data or quotations?

Authority

• Who is the creator or author?
• What are their credentials?
• Who is the publisher or sponsor?
• Are they reputable?
• Are there advertisements on the website?

Purpose

• Why has this been written?
• Is it designed to inform you or to sell you something?

Point of View

• Is this fact or opinion?
• Is it biased?
